Work Experience

Senior Product Designer with nine years of experience designing interaction and information architecture for regulated, high-complexity systems — grounded in research, validated through usability testing. Alongside that core design work, I’ve also taken on the process problems standing in its way when they needed solving: stabilising a delivery pipeline, structuring offshore collaboration, building the internal rituals that let a team ship consistently.

HomeMade (Mable)

Melbourne, Australia · Aged Care / Government Reform

Senior Product Designer

Sole product designer on a squad with a Product Manager, a Data Lead and engineering, across HomeMade’s customer, staff, provider and coordinator platforms. Reporting to a Design Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Own UX outcomes from discovery to delivery: understanding customer challenges, then prototypes, specifications and handover documentation.
  • Scope and run user research and usability testing through Askable and internal comms, and facilitate workshops with finance and leadership stakeholders to shape and review designs.
  • One of the custodians of the company-wide design system on shadcn/ui. Design against production code and generate the Figma kit from the repo.
  • Contribute to design culture as the business scales, including the organisation’s AI Usage Standard.

Key achievements

Funding & Utilisation
Took Funding & Utilisation from “stop the bleed” to shipped in one quarter, after customers were overspending their care budgets. A new Expenses ledger is live on both portals, staff reconciliations match every time, and Utilisation, now measured against the care-plan budget rather than total funding, is live for staff.
Prioritisation
Sequenced Expenses first and staff before customers, and chose with the Product Manager not to build a planned Funding page, keeping the quarter on what stops overspend.
Engineering Scaling
Established “Dual-Kickoff” protocols (video walkthroughs + Definition of Ready gates) to keep design intent intact as engineering scaled from 11 to 20, including a new offshore team in India.
AI Practice
Build working prototypes on the real component library and run generated data through the calculations before committing, and turned repeated work like audits and handovers into reusable skills.

Birchal

Melbourne, Australia · FinTech · B2B SaaS

Lead Product Designer

Lead product designer on Birchal’s equity crowdfunding platform, working with business leaders, engineering, Campaign Managers and, later, a Head of Product.

Responsibilities

  • Worked with business leaders to drive product outcomes, owning the design process end to end, from research to development-ready handover.
  • Led design decisions and trade-offs across the internal and external customer experience, within the rules of a regulated investment product.
  • Ran stakeholder workshops and interviews across Campaign Managers, Sales and Legal & Compliance.
  • Built design culture through rituals and a regular cadence in cross-functional design ceremonies, and championed design practice across the business.

Key achievements

Self-Serve Design
Designed the Founder’s Dashboard end-to-end, moving Birchal’s core fundraising experience from a high-touch, agency-assisted model toward self-serve.
Test Design
Built the comparative usability test against the existing dashboard in Maze, rebuilding the old one to matching visual fidelity first so the comparison measured usability rather than polish. My role ended the day before it launched, so the design shipped complete but unproven.
Roadmap Ownership
Replaced ad-hoc weekly prioritisation with a roadmap tied to shareholder goals, giving the team room to execute on long-term work instead of re-litigating priorities weekly.
Handover
Full high-fidelity designs, documented component variants and interaction states with micro-animation specs, accessibility annotations, responsive breakpoints and engineering handover documentation — complete at the point I left, not partway.
Interim Leadership
Stepped into interim squad leadership after the contract CTO’s departure, representing the product function in shareholder meetings until a permanent Head of Product was hired.

Sidekicker

Melbourne, Australia · B2B Marketplace · Casual Staffing

Product Designer

Product designer in the Employer team at Australia and New Zealand’s largest online staffing platform, owning a significant part of the employer experience: how businesses request, manage and optimise their casual workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Owned design problems end to end, from concept through user testing to high-fidelity deliverables.
  • Led user research and tested solutions with customers, working with product managers, designers, tech leads, engineers and stakeholders across the business.
  • Led discussion of design exploration, methods and conclusions, and contributed to design strategy and principles.

Key achievements

Platform Design
Designed MAP, Sidekicker’s Multi-Agency Platform — extending the control and transparency clients already had over Sidekicker-sourced workers across every staffing agency they used, without losing the trust of agencies using a platform built by a direct competitor. Against a launch target of three committed early adopters, roughly 2,200 client businesses opted into the trial — 5.3% of the client base, at a 63.8% client and 59.3% agency activation rate.
Behavioural Design
Redesigned the worker rating system using behavioural-design principles — adaptive pre-canned responses, decoupling ratings from timesheet approval — to directly address customers’ fear of retaliation, driving a 62% increase in worker reviews in the first month against a 30% target, and a 21% increase in first-time reviewers against a 10% target.
Data Quality
Redesigned the business registration and signup flow, resolving data-quality issues that were causing incorrect registrations — a 34% reduction in misregistrations and a smoother onboarding funnel for new clients.
Job Requests
Added arrival instructions and a “what to wear” field to the business job request form, so requested workers know how to reach the site and what uniform or presentation the shift needs.
Team Process
Introduced a “Travelling Designer” model and clearer documentation standards, letting designers execute end-to-end across product streams without handover friction. Replaced one-size-fits-all reviews with decks sized to their audience — metrics for leadership, technical logic for engineers — to cut the feedback noise that was stalling launches.
